The short version

• You can read WeimLife and use our tools without an account and without telling us who you are.
• Our tools work in your browser. Nothing you type into them is sent to us.
• We have no contact form, newsletter or accounts, so we do not collect your name or email address.
• We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we are

WeimLife (weimlife.org) is an independent guide for Weimaraner owners, read around the world. It is run by an individual, James, not by a company, so in this policy "we" means the person who runs WeimLife. If WeimLife becomes a registered business, this page will name it.

Our tools

The breed-fit quiz, the puppy roadmap and our other tools run entirely in your browser. Your answers and dates are not sent to our servers and we do not store them.

The puppy roadmap has an optional "Remember these dates on this device" setting. If you turn it on, your puppy's dates are saved in your browser's local storage so the roadmap is ready next time. They stay on your device, we cannot see them, and turning the setting off or clearing your browser data removes them.

Analytics and cookies

• Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights count page views and measure how fast pages load. They do not use cookies and do not identify you. We use them to see which guides are useful and to keep the site fast.
• Google Analytics may be added later to understand how readers use the site in more detail. If it is, it only runs after you say yes in a cookie choice that offers "Accept" and "Decline" equally, and you can change your mind at any time from the link in the footer. If you decline, no Google Analytics cookies are set. With your consent it also counts tool use (for example that someone started the quiz or downloaded a reminder), never your answers or dates.
• If Google Analytics is added, we remember your cookie choice in one small first-party cookie, so we don't ask on every page.
• We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or social media embeds.
• Our fonts are hosted on our own site, so reading WeimLife does not contact Google Fonts.

Hosting

WeimLife is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel's servers briefly process technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We do not use this to identify you. Vercel may process this information outside your country, including in the United States.

Children

WeimLife has no user accounts and no forms. The site is written for adults and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Privacy laws in many countries, such as the UK and EU GDPR and some US state laws, give you rights to access, correct or delete personal information about you. Because we do not collect your name, email address or anything you type into our tools, we hold no personal information that identifies you. Analytics figures are counts, not records about people. If we ever add a way to contact us, a newsletter or accounts, we will update this page first to explain what we collect and how to use your rights.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
